Hi, my name is Kate Murphy. I grew up in Hope, Idaho. I moved to Bozeman, MT seven years ago to attend MSU. I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Health & Human Development, specializing in Kinesiology (science of human movement). I’ve been extremely active all my life. A few of my favorite activities are downhill skiing, dirt biking, mountain biking, hiking, golf & volleyball.
My goal as a personal trainer is to help individuals realize their athletic and exercise potential. By providing professional guidance, my focus is to teach proper technique and prescribe guidelines to maximize workout routines in order to gain strength, mobility, coordination, flexibility and balance. This allows individuals the opportunity to reach their athletic goals, prevent injury and disease, while enhancing the quality of their everyday lives.
Some of my knowledge based strengths are exercise physiology (what’s taking place inside the human body, predominantly on a cellular level, while exercising), functional biomechanics (relationships and interactions between the various body parts), the science behind weight loss, and sports nutrition. My area of expertise is strength training, weight loss, sports specific training, functional training, and core strengthening.
Although education, experience, and soaring credentials add to the success of personal trainers, I feel that exceptional communication and “people skills” is my far the most valuable tool a trainer can have.
